The
phone rings….on the other end is a friend or relative sharing the great
news about the newest member of their family.
Almost immediately you begin to call everyone you know to share
this great news with. Nothing
can hold back the excitement you are feeling…
In
the book of Mark, we are told of a man who is possessed by an unclean
spirit. Here we have a man who basically did not “have a
life”….existing among the “tombs” and not being able to be contained
by any kind of restraints. He lived in total torment…crying and even
cutting himself.
Enter
Jesus….this possessed man sees Jesus and runs to Him and worships Him.
At that point Jesus cast out the demons that have taken over this man’s
life…
Then
we read in Mark 5:19…(Jesus speaking) “Go home to thy friends, and
tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had
compassion on thee.”
And
the man went and told “immediately”.
How
many miracles have we witnessed in our own lives?
Salvation in itself is an amazing miracle.
And what about Jesus? His
resurrection was a miracle, are we not a part of that?
Of course we are, for without Christ’s resurrection, there would
be no hope, and without hope there is no future for us to look forward to.
So
I had to ask myself this question:
“How
much time do I spend ‘sharing great news’ with my family, my friends,
my neighbors, my co-workers, and even those I don’t know?”
And
do I spend an equal amount of time sharing “The Great News” about
Jesus?
What
about you?
How
much time do “you” spend telling others about our Lord?
