GOD SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE

Ephesians 1:7, 2:4-8

Grace is what God may be free to do, and indeed what He does, accordingly, for the lost after Christ has died on behalf of them. It is apparent that God’s grace is to be distinguished from His love and mercy.

Ephesians 1:7-8

Mercy is the compassion of God that moved Him to provide a Savior for the un-saved.

Divine love on the other hand is the motivating plan behind all that God does in saving a soul.

God is holy and righteous; sin is a complete offense to Him. His love or mercy cannot operate in grace until there is provided a sufficient satisfaction for sin. Grace rules out all human merit. It requires on “faith in the Savior”.

Two Things About Grace:

1.    Grace perfects forever the saved one in the sight of God because of the saved one’s position “in Christ”.

2.    Grace is favor bestowed on the unworthy and undeserving.  Ephesians 2:8, emphasizes the Grace of God. Your salvation rests upon the Grace of God. When we used to live the ways of the world we were according to Chapter 2 Verse 3; “by nature children of wrath”.  Verse 4, “But because of His great love…”, love being the highest characteristic of God, the one attribute in which all others harmoniously blend. The highest disclosure and most complete proof of diving love is redemption.

Back to Chapter 1 verse 7; “redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s GRACE.”

On the basis of what Christ has done for you and on the fact that the Holy Spirit has inclined you toward Christ and you have believed the Word of God and have trusted Him, you can say, “I am saved”!  It is not an “I hope so” salvation, or an “I’ll try” salvation.  His is a salvation that is by the grace of God, by means of faith, and is is not of yourself.  It is a gift of god.
