FOUR GOOD WORKERS

Mark 2:1-5

In this case, 4 to 1 were good odds.

In this scripture passage we see four men bringing one man to Christ.  We are not told where they were from, who they are, but their action is recorded in the Word.

Hearing that Jesus was at home, many people were gathered together to hear a word from Him. The house was packed out. It just goes to show that you don’t have to be just in church to hear a word from God.

These men were unable to get to Jesus because of the crowd, so they removed the roof.

  1. Question:  How many times have we let some little interference or something keep us from coming to meet Jesus at church?  How hard will we try to overcome these things and meet Jesus anyway?

These four men wanted to get their one friend to Jesus because they had faith the He could heal their friend. They tore the roof off enough to get their friend down to where Jesus was speaking to the crowd.

  1. Question:  How much trouble will we go through to bring a friend to meet Jesus – Personally?

These four men may represent four things that are essential in seeking to bring a friend to meet Jesus today.

1.   Prayer – Why is prayer so important?

It is the hand that opens the door of heaven and lets out the power of God.  Some churches today have little power because they have little prayer.

2.   Faith – Why does it have to take faith?

The Lord moves when His people show faith.

And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, ‘My son, your sins are forgive.”  Action was taken by Jesus.

3.   Sympathy – If the compassion of Christ moves through you and beams upon a lost person, that lost person may soon throw off the clothing of indifference and open up himself (or herself) to you. This is a picture of the Holy Spirit working in and through you to reach someone else.

4.   Perseverance – These four men kept on until they had their friend at Jesus’ feet.  even though there seemed no way, they made a way.

So keep on praying, having faith, showing

sympathy, and Persevere in your endeavor of working for Christ.
